The Hauser Brothers

We’re not marketing guys who decided to get into construction.

And we’re not contractors trying to look fancy.

We’re brothers who started on the same rough framing crew 25 years ago — one of us stayed in the field, one of us took the long way back. Both of us learned how to build the right way: from the ground up.

Dusty never left the jobsite. He built homes, fences, and spent the last decade becoming one of the most respected deck builders in Northern Utah. His boots have been in the mud, his hands in the sawdust, and his name behind hundreds of solid structures that still stand tall.

Josh took a different path — off the job site and into boardrooms, where he helped companies grow through strategy and storytelling. But between meetings, he was in the woodshop — designing benches, carving clocks, cutting joinery by hand. Not for clients. For the love of the craft.

Hauser Built is what happens when you bring those two worlds together. Strategy and sweat. Art and structure. No fluff. No shortcuts. Just outdoor spaces built with skill, brains, and a bit of soul.

Some people talk about building. I’ve been doing it for over 20 years — the hard way, the right way, the way that lasts.

I started as a teenager, hammering nails on our uncle’s framing crew. While my brother Josh took the boardroom route, I stayed in the field — sharpening my craft on every job site, every season, every swing.

For the past decade, I’ve specialized in decks — from simple platforms to full-scale outdoor living spaces. I’ve built in wind, heat, and snow. I know what holds up and what doesn’t. And I’ve earned that knowledge the old-fashioned way: on the job, in the dust, one board at a time.

Hauser Built is where all that experience comes to work — with quality, pride, and attention to detail. No shortcuts. No excuses. Just honest work that speaks for itself.

I didn’t take the usual path into construction — and that’s exactly why I build the way I do.

Before Hauser Built, I spent years as a strategic planning executive, helping Fortune 500 companies craft big ideas and long-term vision. Before that, I earned a degrees in History and then a Masters degree in Fine Arts, learning how to shape meaning, structure, and story.

But even earlier — before the boardrooms and the creative workshops — I was swinging a hammer on my uncle’s framing crew, working my way through college. And in between those worlds, I stayed grounded in my garage woodshop, designing and handcrafting furniture, garden benches, and the occasional wooden clock.

That uncommon mix — hands-on building, strategic thinking, and a deep creative instinct — helps drive Hauser Built today. It means we don’t just build decks, pergolas, or fences. We craft outdoor spaces that are as durable as they are beautiful — structures that feel as good as they look, and that last as long as the memories made in them.
